Staff Intro
Eric Koike
Born to Japanese parents in southern California in 1970, I inherited a passion and respect for the outdoors and traveling at an early age. I have been in love with the immense power of the ocean as long as I can remember, and after taking up surfing at the age of seven, it has since become my life.

My work has enabled me to travel the world since the age of twenty, experiencing a great many cultures and lifestyles. It was during these trips while enjoying the outdoors surfing, camping, trekking, and so on that I came up with a way to share this stoke with others - through Earthlyways Tours.

My goal is to use my knowledge to help others experience the good vibes and unforgettable memories that are a part of any well planned trip.

Ron Hamasaka
Hi!
my name is Ron Hamasaka, born January 22, 1948,"Yes," I'm an old fart.. I've always loved the ocean.
Growing up in Soutern California. I started surfing at 16 years of age. In the early years of surfing at that many surfers except for Malibu, Swami's, Rincon, etc. Finding lonely breaks was fairly easy.

Twenty years ago, with my family and friends, we started to really explore Baja. The roads were (and still are) terrible, the beaches are beautiful, and the scenery to get to the remote stretches is fabulous. The trips take there toll on the vehicles and equipment, But it's totally worth it.
I'm on my third Baja truck. Preparing it for the rough roads takes a lot of works and money. If something is going to break it wil happen in Baja. Being prepared usually means an unexpected pee stop while I repair the damage.

The local residents of Baja have hearts of gold.
They live a hard life, living off the ocean or farming the dry land. If help is needed they are always there for you.You must always use caution, the local critters, like the rattlesnakes, scorpions, and spiny cactus of all sorts, it can cause a lot of discomfort.
Exploring the rugged spine of this land is enjoyable and educational, just getting to a destination is an adventure itself. My favorite times in Baja are with my family, exploring new places.

I'm looking forward to being your guide, cook, and driver. In the hopes that you will fall in love with one of the least developed coast line in the Americas. To see area seldomly touched by humans, and sandy because with only your footprints in the sand. You will definitely want to join us on longer trips deeper into the realm of Baja.
